Droxford Parish Council Update
The Parish Council is pleased to report on recent and upcoming community events:
Traffic and Road Safety Meeting – Saturday, 8th February
A well-attended public meeting was held for residents to raise concerns about traffic and road safety in the village. Parish Councillor Lewis Smith led the discussion, joined by County Councillor Malcolm Wallace and District Councillor Danny Lee. As a result, several initiatives are planned, including the formation of a volunteer group to support Cllr Smith in addressing these issues.
The Great British Spring Clean – Saturday, 5th April
As part of this nationwide initiative, Droxford has partnered with our wonderful community café, Wilfrid’s, which will be providing coffee to all volunteer litter pickers. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed to keeping Droxford a clean and beautiful place to live and visit.
Parking at The Square
If you park in The Square, please be mindful that the Church, Village Hall, and two residential properties require clear access at all times, especially for emergency services. Recently, inconsiderate parking has blocked an ambulance and prevented disabled access to the Church. While we understand these incidents may have been caused by visitors, we encourage everyone to remain aware of the importance of keeping access routes clear.
Sports Pavilion Improvements
The Sports Pavilion will soon undergo improvement works at the front of the building to enhance accessibility. It will be closed for a couple of weeks while the work takes place. The Pavilion, owned and maintained by the Parish Council, is available for hire for children’s parties, family gatherings, sporting fixtures, training, and community events. During the warmer months, the Pavilion’s doors open onto the Recreation Ground, with picnic benches available for outdoor seating. If you would like to know more, or have a look around, please contact the Clerk for more information.
Thank you for your continued support in making Droxford a welcoming and well-maintained community.
